I recently came across a cotton crochet necklace by Emma Bass of Stitching Me Softly on Etsy. She makes the most lovely statement necklaces and kits.
I thought I might be able to combine one with my headpins and contacted Emma to see what she thought. Good idea she said - so I ordered one.
Isn't it packaged lovely?
I wanted to make a necklace to match a tunic I have that came from Mistral a few years ago. I love these tunics, I have a collection of them they are so comfortable to wear and hide a multitude of sins. I wish they would make more.
The design is called Whirlygig.
Aren't the colours just yummy.
I made some discs in matching colours. Once I started I had trouble stopping. I've never gone this big before!
I just love them!
I then had fun playing around with the placement on the necklace and this is what I came up with.
Please excuse the selfie (I hate taking selfies) but this was for the last day of March Meet The Maker.
This makes me so happy!
I asked on Facebook of people think I should keep the little discs underneath and the consensus of opinion was that it didn't need them. So I will probably take them off - I must admit I quite like them though so may change my mind and keep them
Thanks for looking.
