Every year there is a show called Flame Off held at Uttoxeter racecourse. It is our annual convention of glass beadmakers and so much more. It is where we meet up with old friends and make some new ones. Attend workshops and of course buy glass! It is organised by Tuffnell Glass who is the biggest distributer of glass in the UK.
I've been quite a few times but this is the first time I've had a table to sell my wares. My plan is to teach how I make my glass headpins and so to get my name out there in the lampworking community I thought it would be a good idea.
I had lots of pretty headpins for sale. These are glass made on the end of a piece of wire (in case you didn't know). Lovingly created one at a time in a hot flame. They are sculpted either by hand or using tools to create shape and texture. Once they are made they go into a kiln to anneal them. This removes any stress that is in the glass and cools them slowely. This makes sure they last a long time.
Funk and funky
and silver glass
I have lots of these for sale in my Etsy store at the moment and adding more daily.
I also launched the tools that I use for making these headpins. These are the tools that hold the piece of wire and I have part of them machined and then finish them off myself.
They are available to purchase here in my store: Link to tool
Thanks for looking,
